The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Media at London College of Communication. You will undertake teaching and research within the field of media, culture and communications studies, contributing in particular to the delivery of the Media and Cultural Studies based degree: BA Contemporary Media Cultures. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with research expertise in one or more of the following area: political economy of the media; media audiences; media and activism. As lecturer you will take responsibility for the management and coordination of relevant units, and other related duties as determined by the Course Leader and/or Programme Director. You will also produce original research outputs in your own area of specialism.
About you
We are looking for a passionate academic to contribute to the development and delivery of this degree. You will have a proven track record of delivering a high quality student experience and of contribution to curriculum development, delivery and assessment. Educated to PhD level, you will have substantial teaching experience in the field of media, culture and communications. You will be committed to a teaching approach that integrates media theory and practice. You will have or be willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification. You will be able to evidence research and scholarly activity in a relevant subject and knowledge of the latest developments in the subject area.
In addition, you will have experience of providing academic and pastoral support to students, of monitoring student progress and maintaining appropriate records, and of undertaking general unit management responsibilities.
