The opportunity

To support the UAL Co-Investigator, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Co-Investigator, of the Business of Fashion Textiles & Technology (BFTT) Project in the delivery of Challenge 3: Design Models and Business Models for Sustainable Fashion Practices.

Challenge 3 focuses on the development of design models and business models, relating to specific fashion products, services and systems applied to large scale fashion design, manufacture and retail. The project will investigate potential for the creation and testing of new products, services and systems that contribute to a restorative fashion system, with positive social and ecological impacts whilst being viable to the business.

About you

You need to have a doctoral qualification in the area of fashion design, design for sustainability, or equivalent research experience. In particular, we are looking for candidates with experience related to design for sustainability practices within fashion industry; experience of undertaking research with external collaborators; and experience of working with visualisation tools. The successful candidate should possess ability to collect and to analyse data related to the fashion industry, fashion design, product design, tools and methods analysis, and the quantitative and qualitative analysis skills suited to the analysis of tools and methods.
