The opportunity
This key college role leads on the co-ordination and development of funding applications or proposals across all college programmes, working closely with our researchers and the university’s Research Management and Administration. Managing the planning and administration for the Research Excellence Framework, the Research Manager needs to be able to work collaboratively with a wide group of stakeholders and manage their own complex workload within key time constraints.
The Research Manager also takes a lead responsibility for managing and administering College research development schemes and for delivering 1-to-1 first-line advice and support to academic research staff across the college in identifying and applying for appropriate funding to support their academic activities, advising on eligibility and institutional/funder priorities and processes. Working with senior academics this role is integral to Central Saint Martins realising its ambitions for impact and social purpose through its research.

About you
You will have considerable experience of the Higher Education sector, especially the external funding environments for art and design and the mechanisms of research reporting including impact. You will be an experienced administrator, comfortable with planning and manging resources and projects, working to tight deadlines and communicating with stakeholders and positively influencing others. You will be excited by UALs ambitious Research Strategy and its commitment to Social Purpose.
