The opportunity


In this key role you will be responsible for the academic leadership and management of the BA (Hons) Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics for Performance Course. This includes the day to day management of all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as managing the resources allocated. You will contribute to, and lead on the process of course development, modifications, validation and review by the University in liaison with relevant Deans.


With a relevant degree or equivalent industry experience, you will have the ability to lead the professional development of the subject area, Hair, Make-up and Prosthetics for Performance. Your extensive industry experience should include working within the Performance Industry such as TV, Film or Theatre.  The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching in Higher Education and have an in-depth knowledge of  some of the following areas, Hair and/or Make-up and/or Prosthetics, from design, script breakdown, sculpting, mould making, wig making, hair cutting and styling, make-up and/or prosthetic application.

There will be an extended selection process.

You will be a clear, confident communicator able to adapt your communication style to suit the audience. You will have strong IT skills and the ability to build productive working relationships between teams. You will have the ability to motivate and develop team members’ abilities by encouraging contribution to common goals. The successful post holder will be a keen problem solver with excellent analytical skills to identify problems and take action to prevent the recurrence of them.
