The opportunity

The MA Service Experience Design and Innovation course takes a transdisciplinary and speculative approach to the design of services using advanced digital marketing strategies and emerging technologies. Close attention is given to experience and service design in the era of virtual/augmented reality experiences, data-driven decision-making and the internet of things, where all objects will offer service experiences. The course emphasises the wider role of service design and has a strong drive for disruptive innovation. This is a practice-based professionally oriented course, which combines theory with practice in a project-led curriculum using a range of interdisciplinary perspectives. The curriculum has a start-up entrepreneurial focus with a distinctive emphasis on the development of high-level design thinking, innovative research, communication, service experience design, future trend studies, with a balance between commitment to profit and public interest sectors. The course builds a strong global emphasis through its cross-cultural and transnational approach and through international partnerships. The course has a commitment to delight with ethics as central factors of service experience making a paradigm shifting from ‘customer satisfaction’ to ‘customer delight’.

As Course Leader of the MA Service Experience Design and Innovation you will be responsible to the Programme Director for the academic leadership and management of the course. This includes maintenance and enhancement of standards, responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the curriculum plus the day-to-day management of the course including all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as resources allocated.

Contact Dr Mark Ingham, Acting Programme Director Spatial Communications m.ingham@lcc.arts.ac.uk for further information or an informal discussion relating to the post.
