The opportunity

This post will be based in the Language Centre, which is part of the University of the Arts London’s academic services to international students. It focuses on the commercial and pre-sessional programme of the Language Centre but is part of the broad AE marketing and communications team who operate in all the AE business units.

Your role will be to co-ordinate, develop and deliver the annual marketing and communications plan for the Language Centre commercial and presessional programmes which are targeted at both B2B and B2C customers. These plans are a key part of the annual business plan. This will involve working with the Business Manager and Business Development Manager as well as the international sales unit to drive sales through marketing aimed at both individual students and our wide network of agents. You will also be responsible for physical, digital and social media marcomms.

As well as ensuring maximum effectiveness of the Language Centre marketing budget you will work with the AE Data Analyst and the UAL digital team to enable the most effective customer journey through the UAL website for prospective Language Centre students. AE is investing in a new marketing and sales system for individual students (AEMSS) and you will be part of the team which ensures its effective delivery and implementation. Once up and running you will manage the Language Centre’s use of the system in conjunction with the Operations Manager.

About you

We are looking for a commercially focused marketing professional with a successful track record in B2B and B2C environments in the ELT industry. You will need to be experienced at physical, digital and social media communications and have a wide knowledge of appropriate software to support this work. To succeed in this role you will need to be able to work collaboratively in the Language Centre team but also across the marketing, comms and sales teams in the University. A commitment to the customer experience is essential as is good resource planning and management. The successful candidate will also need a good knowledge of the relationship between marketing and sales. We are looking for an effective oral and written communicator with a sophisticated understanding of the importance of visual communication.
