The opportunity
In this new role, you will teach fashion communication theory and practice across higher education and postgraduate courses in our School of Media and Communication. You will employ research-led teaching strategies across year groups to inspire critical thinking and novel approaches to creative problem-solving. You will take an active role in curriculum development, ensuring relevance and currency while addressing the complex relationship between theory and practice. You will support students within the course on projects, personal and professional development, and pastorally.
About you
As a professional practitioner, you will hold a relevant degree and will be able to demonstrate significant creative success and up-to-date specialist knowledge and experience in fashion communication and its more specialist sub-fields. You will be forward-thinking and visionary, with an understanding of the changing demands of the industry. Your body of work will question the status quo and you will be a significant contributor to advancing your area of expertise both in terms of research and practice.
A relevant postgraduate qualification and industry experience is essential. Some teaching experience is essential and you should be committed to education. However, you will have the opportunity to continue your research or professional practice in fashion communication, ensuring your knowledge of the subject is always up-to-date.
