The opportunity

In this varied role, you will play a critical part in the success of staff and student research at LCC at an exciting time in the development of LCC Research Culture. The post holder will support and work closely with the Associate Dean Research and Head of the Graduate School to ensure effective and efficient support is in place to aid all research related staff and student facing activities. You will provide a first line-advisory and information service for the LCC Research Office, giving guidance on all relevant university policies and procedures to staff/students and support the management of the college research environment. The role also involves working with the UAL Research Management and Administration Department.

About you

The LCC Research Office works with all research staff and students across the college. This includes our many research networks and hubs and our two research centres, the Photography and the Archive Research Centre (PARC) and the Creative Research into Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP). The college is invested in the future development of research across our screen, design and media schools at an exciting part in the strategic planning of our future research and teaching focus and in preparation for the move to a new building in the early 2020s. This is also the run-up to REF, an ideal time to play a central part in cultivating a vibrant and inclusive research culture.

Every position within the University plays an important part in shaping future creative professionals, and impacts on the future of so many creative industries. You will get to be a part of this future by transferring your specialist knowledge on to other keen creatives whilst developing your own skills.

We are looking for an organised, motivated and approachable person, with a relevant undergraduate degree level qualification.  Ideally, you will have knowledge or experience of the research environment (a PhD is desirable but not essential) and research administration processes within a Higher Educational context, as well as developed IT skills (Microsoft Office, website content management, blog management, social media).

If you have any general queries, please contact Lesley Wilkins, Staffing Administrator, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 020 7514 7985

At UAL, everyone's identity matters. We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all our diverse students, staff, and the creative and cultural sector partners with whom we engage. We aim to take every opportunity to progress equality and diversity, and celebrate the enrichment this brings to our community.
