The opportunity

The course resides within the Interaction Design & Visual Communication Programme. The Programme includes the following undergraduate and postgraduate courses; BA(Hons) Interaction Design Arts, BA(Hons) Information and Interface Design, BA(Hons) Illustration and Visual Media MA Interaction Design Communication, MA User Experience Design, MA Service Design and Innovation and MA Illustration and Visual Media.

The successful candidate will manage and participate in the delivery of innovative teaching as well as making a significant contribution to pedagogic delivery, assessment, quality management and recruitment.

The appointed candidate will work under the direction of the Programme Director and alongside the other course leaders to deliver the validated course as well as contributing to School, College and University initiatives including research, knowledge exchange and teaching & learning initiatives.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications within the area of Communication Design or adjacent fields. You will have knowledge of delivering user experience design projects in a professional and/or academic environment and experience of a range of specialist skills and techniques and knowledge, including research skills.

As an academic, previous experience of curriculum development experience is desired in addition to experience of academic research. We expect you to have a national/international reputation for research and/or practice in user experience design or a highly aligned field.

The successful candidate should possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and manage staff as well as be an innovative teacher. Candidates should demonstrate subject knowledge as well as skills relevant to subject development within an academic, research and professional context.
