The opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to lead the establishment of the UAL Institute for Creative Computing. This role will suit an individual who is excited by the premise of the Institute and is energised by the challenge of delivering a comprehensive, research-informed ecology of creative computing within a specialist university environment.
About you
You will have a significant track record of academic leadership including the development of innovative UG and PG courses involving technology, computing and art and design, combined with experience of public engagement in a Higher Education context and developing resilient industry and educational partnerships.
You will hold an undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field and it is desirable that you hold a PhD and have experience of research publication. You should also hold a recognised teaching qualification and have significant experience of quality assurance.
You will need a demonstrable understanding of the creative computing subject and an understanding of creative coding and its importance in terms of the creative sector. Having experience of creative practice at the intersection of art, design and computing will be key to establishing your credibility to lead the new UAL Institute for Creative Computing.
