The opportunity

You will assist with the management, maintenance and promotion of print and e-subscriptions to serials and other resources. You will also manage information related to the licensing of resources. 

Maintain and monitor a log of the copyright notices to inform the CLA annual return due at the end of each academic year. Compile and complete the CLA annual return manually or through the Digital Content Store. Deliver training sessions for Library Services and other staff as required, and maintain materials to communicate and promote the use of the CLA licence.

You will administer budgets, monitoring expenditure, and providing reports as requested.

You will liaise with our serials supplier (currently LM), serials publishers and copyright contacts, via phone and email. 

You will work closely with LAS colleagues especially the Discovery Manager (Resources & Communications), the Resources & Systems Manager and the Finance team, and will support, and be supported by, a small team of Library Assistants in relation to serials work.

You will be part of a team responding to LAS enquiries and will be the first point of contact for serials and copyright compliance queries from staff and students, as well as answering general enquiries.

About you

You will have excellent communication skills, and be able to express yourself clearly & confidently in writing, face to face, by phone or by email. [ESSENTIAL]

You can work independently, but are equally comfortable working as part of a team. [ESSENTIAL]

You will be highly organised, with good attention to detail and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel. [ESSENTIAL]

You will ideally have worked with serials and have experience of subscription resources [ESSENTIAL] and an awareness of copyright compliance issues. [DESIRABLE]


You will ideally have budget management experience. [DESIRABLE]
