Senior Lecturer, BA (Hons) Photojournalism and Documentary Photography

The opportunity

As Course Leader BA (Hons) Photojournalism and Documentary Photography, you will assume responsibility for the academic leadership and management of a dynamic and internationally recognised course. You will take overall responsibility for the design, development and delivery of this progressive and forward-facing course supported by a team of talented and dedicated colleagues. You will lead on curriculum innovation at a time of profound change for developments in visual storytelling, photojournalism and documentary photography. The role requires that you oversee the day-to-day management of the course, including strategic development of all areas of learning, teaching and assessment. You will also be responsible for resource allocation and the observation and implementation of the policies and procedures of the University and the College. 

About you

We are looking for an individual who has management experience working within photographic/visual arts cultures, who has a postgraduate qualification and/or relevant professional experience appropriate to the subject area of photography, and experience of administrative processes relevant to this academic management role. You will inspire students and staff alike and will be a leading authority in your field and willing to innovate and push at the boundaries of how photojournalism, documentary and visual storytelling are viewed and taught and always be up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry. You will maintain strong links with photographic industries, photographic practitioners and build further collaborative links with a range of relevant institutions.
