The opportunity

We are seeking a committed individual to support the learning, teaching and research activities of the University, by providing service wide co-ordinated support for access to resources, collections and services for students with disabilities.

The post-holder will have specific responsibility for coordinating work within Library Services related to access and inclusion, in particular the provision of alternative format material.


 

About you

With either a degree in any subject plus a postgraduate qualification or a degree in Library & Information Studies or equivalent, and relevant experience within an academic environment or equivalent, you will have experience of customer-focused service delivery and awareness of how principles of access and inclusion apply to library services. 

In addition, you will have experience or awareness of working with disabled customers, and knowledge and experience of relevant technologies including Microsoft Office, Adoble accessible PDFs, Moodle or other VLE, assistive technology (e.g.text to speech) and Library Management Systems.

Possessing excellent communication skills, you will also be able to express yourself clearly and confidently in writing, face to face, by phone or by email. You will be comfortable working independently but are equally comfortable working collaboratively in a team and where appropriate across or with different professional groups.
