The opportunity

This is a unique role working directly with undergraduate and postgraduate degree seeking students within our Digital Pattern Cutting facilities at London College of Fashion. 
  
Providing one-to-one learning support on a daily basis, a high level of practical expertise with industry standard 2D and 3D digital pattern realisation software is required, together with a broad understanding of complimentary digital technology. Specialist software experience may include, but is not limited to, Lectra Suite, Gerber Accumark and Optitex PDS in addition to design software such as Adobe Creative Suite. Candidates should feel comfortable preparing and delivering specialist technical workshops to groups of students with a wide range of ability and skill, during supervised studio, taught sessions and online delivery. Conversant with current social media platforms the successful applicant will contribute to the curation, development and promotion of the Digital Pattern Cutting (CAD/CAM) department’s profile through appropriate social media.   

There will be a skills test on 23rd November 2021.

About you

We are looking for an engaged, enthusiastic and creative person to join our existing team of Technical Teaching & Learning staff, contributing to existing work to create and develop a world-class learning experience for our students. With a graduate degree, equivalent qualification or relevant experience, the successful candidate will have proven and demonstrable experience with a variety of industry standard equipment (hardware and software), content management systems and other web based solutions related to CAD/CAM for garment production. 
  
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-disciplined manner, whilst adhering to an extremely high standard of customer care, are essential characteristics for this role. The post holder should be highly proactive, well organised, command excellent interpersonal and supervisory skill while operating with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration. Experience of teaching and learning within an HE role is also desirable.  
 
Please note this role will require flexible working patterns including evening and or weekend work.
