The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and organised administrator to work on an exciting new research project funded by AHRC, “Exhibiting Fashion: exhibition-making and curation as a catalyst for advancing innovative museum practices". You will support the Principal Investigator’s research into fashion exhibition-making and advancing innovative museum practices in collaboration with three museum partners around the UK.

The project is based at London College of Fashion’s John Prince’s Street site at Oxford Circus, relocating in Autumn 2023 to Stratford, East London. It is expected that the post will involve some remote working as well as working onsite. Periodic travel to partner sites is also expected.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator (based at LCF) and collaborating with the external Co-Investigator and the core partners of the project, you will deliver a high quality professional administrative service from the project’s inception to its completion.

About you

You will have demonstrable experience of delivering high quality administrative support, preferably in the higher education sector. You should have a demonstrable interest in the field of curation or museums.

You will be highly organised and have significant demonstrable experience of creating and updating databases and spreadsheets, working with budgets and experience of producing reports.  You will be experienced in clerking meetings, managing day to day expenditure and acting as a key point of contact for administrative queries.

You will be an excellent communicator, comfortable liaising with museum professionals, and be confident in organising internal and external facing events, meetings and travel arrangements as well as supporting the needs of multiple stakeholders. You will thrive working both independently and as part of a team.

A degree qualification or equivalent qualifications together with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Email, Word and Excel) is essential.  Experience of working remotely through a shared file server such as Sharepoint is also desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Please submit your application as soon as possible, as should a sufficient number of applications be received this vacancy may close earlier than the stated closing date.
