The opportunity

The Evening Librarian is responsible for the effective delivery of the evening library service across Camberwell College of Arts, the London College of Communication  and Wimbledon College of Arts.

You will lead a team of 8 Library Assistants working across these 3 colleges.  The service runs during undergraduate term-time (3 terms per year), Monday - Friday 18:00pm - 22.15pm. This is a 38-week contract (pro-rata), 21.25 hours per week, equating to 0.51 FTE. Depending on the academic year 31 weeks are worked in the evening, and other hours (reserve hours) will be used for training, attending meetings and working during the day as arranged with your line manager.  

About you

We are looking for someone with a degree level qualification and relevant work experience. A recognised library qualification or relevant experience in other education or information roles and related disciplines is desirable (e.g. CILIP accreditation, non-academic library or archives experience, NVQ’s or apprenticeship, library or teaching postgraduate cert/dip/MA/MSc). You will have an enthusiasm for delivering an imaginative, student-centred service and an awareness of inclusion and diversity work in libraries.
