The opportunity

Applicants are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Rebecca Bramall on a three-year project examining meanings and practices of economic contribution in the context of digitalization.

Redistributive imaginaries: digitalization, culture and prosocial contribution (Redigim) is supported by the Economic and Social Research Council under the CHANSE ERA-NET Co-fund programme. The project investigates the role of the digital in collective, common-sense understandings of prosocial contribution and redistribution.

You will be working with PI/PL Dr Bramall and a consortium of European researchers in Switzerland, Finland, Spain and Germany. You will support the PI to deliver the project’s five work packages, which will involve the application of qualitative research methods including textual analysis, analysis of digital platforms/tools, individual and group interviews with research participants, and ethnography/digital ethnography.

You will join a community of researchers in the Media School at London College of Communication and benefit from career development opportunities at UAL, as well as involvement in the Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe (CHANSE) network.

About you

We welcome applicants who hold (or are close to submission of) a relevant PhD in media and cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, science and technology studies, or a related discipline.

You will possess appropriate theoretical and methodological knowledge and strong analytical skills, enabling you to contribute to the development and implementation of Redigim. You will be able to work collaboratively and manage your work autonomously and to agreed deadlines.

You will have an emerging track record of publications and presentations appropriate to your career stage, and you will be able to communicate effectively with non-academic stakeholders and produce content for public dissemination.

Applicants with enquiries about the post are warmly encouraged to contact Dr Bramall via email r.bramall@lcc.arts.ac.uk.

Online interviews using MS Teams will be held on Friday, 23rd September 2022.

Should you have any queries please contact Jaspreet Kaur, Resourcing Adviser via email  RKEEstaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk
