The opportunity

The School of Design at London College of Communication is looking to recruit a Course Leader to teach and manage the BA Information and Interface design.

This course resides within the Interaction Design & Visual Communication programme which includes the following undergraduate and postgraduate courses: BA(Hons) Interaction Design Arts, BA(Hons) Information and Interface Design, BA(Hons) Illustration and Visual Media, MA Interaction Design Communication, MA Service Experience Design & Innovation and MA Illustration and Visual Media.

The successful candidate will manage and participate in the delivery of innovative teaching as well as making a significant contribution to pedagogic delivery, assessment, quality management and recruitment.

The appointed candidate will work under the direction of the Programme Director and alongside the other course leaders to deliver the validated course as well as contributing to School, College and University initiatives including research.  

About you

We are looking for a candidate with relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications within the areas of information and interface design (or adjacent fields). You will have a significant industry or artistic portfolio and a range of specialist design software and coding skills (flexible to be discussed at interview) and knowledge of delivering digital design in a professional and academic context. Knowledge of experimental digital information and interface design and associated digital processes are especially sought. 

We will expect you to have a National/International reputation for research and/or practice in digital design or a highly aligned field.  

The successful candidate should possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and manage both full and part time staff as well as be an innovative teacher.

Candidates should demonstrate subject knowledge as well as skills relevant to subject development within an academic, research and professional context.
