The opportunity

The Screen School at London College of Communication is looking to recruit a Film Festival Co-ordinator to promote and support student and graduate films in the festival and industry context.

The successful candidate will develop a network with film, television and animation festivals and events, both in the UK & world-wide, and maximise the exposure of Screen School students and their films through all appropriate networks. They will promote and support internal and external opportunities to and for students and graduates. They will disseminate information, advise, support and co-ordinate to enable students, graduates, academic staff, the Business and Innovation and Internal and External Relations teams to place films into the most relevant Festivals for their genre. They will compile and maintain relevant databases, co-ordinate showcases and invitations to the industry guests. They will support the development of sponsored student projects, graduate consultancy and other income generating activities in the areas within Screen school.

The appointed candidate will work under the Film and Television Programme Director, with students and graduates and with the teams from academic teaching staff, Business and Innovation and the Internal and External Relations.

About you

We are looking for a candidate with relevant experience and knowledge of national and international film festivals, distribution networks, relevant professional bodies and associations within the film industry and film schools. You will have experience of advising on appropriate film selection for events and festivals, and preparing and submitting film/screen materials and promotional packs to festivals. You will have effective database and file management experience.  You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience and ability to initiate, prioritises and organise work to achieve objectives on time and to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
