The opportunity

We are looking for a passionate maker to bring a team of technicians together and create cohesion between workshops and technicians across multiple making spaces within 3 Art and Design colleges in London. You are a visionary thinker with an understanding of fabrication across wood, metal, plastics, ceramics, and casting etc. We are regularly engaging with these materials with physical and digital processes. We are looking for someone with a firm grasp on contemporary making which includes a solid grounding in established skills and one foot into emerging practices.

You would ideally have a background in Design or Fine Art and have teaching experience in higher education.

About you

As well as this familiarity with making, we are looking for someone with excellent team management, communication and organisational skills. We need someone to represent this team and lead on the delivery of course aligned teaching, independent learning, health and safety, communication and the configuration of the workspaces themselves.  You would ideally have some experience in project management to assist the Technical Operations Managers with larger developments to the resources.

If you have any queries about this role that are not covered in the documentation, please contact Christine Crouch, Staffing Administrator, email: jobs.ccw@arts.ac.uk
