The opportunity

Here at Wimbledon we are at an exciting point in our development, where the Theatre & Screen Programme has a vacancy for a lecturer in digital practice in the BA Production Arts for Screen course. Working closely with the Course Leader you will be responsible for the development and delivery of Digital innovation and practice, developing opportunities and learning in this area that will equip students with innovative practices and competencies on graduation. In addition the post holder will also oversee digital aspects of the two outgoing pathways that underpin the new course, of Set Design for Screen and Technical Arts and Special Effects to deliver inspiring and challenging teaching to all three years of students through a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, seminars, group and 1:1 tutorials, visits to locations of interest etc. 

You will be a dynamic, team player and collaborator with knowledge and interests that will contribute to the Theatre and Screen team’s academic profile and work closely and professionally with staff members at all levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the associated administration and quality assurance of the smooth running of the course. 

About you

You will have a background in digital design holding a degree in a related subject area or equivalent professional practice, knowledge or experience of digital innovation within the industry and an awareness of the research and how digital innovation can be applied to this subject area. You will have understanding of pedagogy and will bring your current knowledge and understanding to your teaching. We are particularly interested in innovation, research and exploration using new technologies and how the digital can enhance and innovate within this subject area of production making and design for screen.  

You will have experience of assessment and effective feedback to students and be able to support and guide students through your understanding of the student journey, excellent communication skills and a demonstrable ability to motivate and work as part of a course team as well as contributing to the wider Theatre & Screen, Wimbledon and UAL communities.
