The opportunity

To assist in the delivery of high quality customer-focussed archive services at the University of the Arts London (UAL), which support the teaching, learning and research activities of its Colleges by participating in front-line services, collections care and administrative duties.

You will be based in the Archives & Special Collections Centre, at London College of Communication. An accredited archive service, you will be working with material from UAL’s rich archives and special collections.

Working Hours are:

4 days per week: 10am-5pm

1 day per week: 1pm-5pm

About you

With an active interest in archives, museum collections and the heritage professions, you will have relevant experience of working within one of these environments. You will be committed to delivering effective customer-service, using your positive and responsive communication skills. You will be eager to support teaching, learning and research activities; using archives and special collections, and contributing towards UAL’s commitment to Object Based Learning. You will assist with collections care and curatorial work. You will support University projects, groups and activities as required. You will have experience of data entry, basic numeracy skills and strong attention to detail. You will be comfortable working within a small, dedicated team of professionals, volunteers and students.
