The opportunity

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to work directly with the Director of Knowledge Exchange (KE), as well as colleagues across the institution.  The role will lead on the ongoing development and delivery of a continuous improvement programme of projects and initiatives, enabling delivery of the highest standards of KE consistently across UAL, and ensuring that UAL meets the standards required by the new KE Framework (KEF) Concordat.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys managing multiple workstreams, engaging with diverse stakeholders, and delivering at pace. The role will require you to think and engage strategically, whilst delivering a programme of activities that directly results in operational and business improvements, and in the enhancement of UAL’s overall KE capabilities and capacities.  The role will be highly visible within the organisation, and will focus specifically on addressing the following areas of continuous improvement for KE: performance data, communications, staff development, business processes, and policy development.

About you

You will have a track record in managing complex inter-departmental projects, working across different teams and cultures to effectively implement behaviour and culture change, as well as developing and implementing new policies and processes to support such business change. You should have a good knowledge of the regulatory and policy environment of higher education – particularly in relation to KE, as well as an awareness of the diversity of KE mechanisms, models and practices.

You can communicate ideas clearly and inclusively, and ideally have experience of line management of staff with responsibilities for communications, staff development, and/or events management.  You also demonstrate a proven ability to plan, co-ordinate and review work, effort, and resources, ensuring maximum efficiency and delivery of goals.

In return, UAL offers generous leave, an attractive pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.
