The opportunity

Learning Technology Support (LTS) seeks a skilled and experienced Technical Assistant to provide support for students and staff in IT open access areas assisted by Specialist Technicians. This is a varied and dynamic role, and a key part of the role is working as part of a team that deals with enquiries from students and staff relating to UAL account queries, printing, on the use of design and presentation software on behalf of the LTS. This role will include troubleshooting problems students are having using software or hardware and to report critical issues in the correct procedure to the relevant parties. You will also ensure there is a comprehensive support service in place and University policy and procedures are complied with, contributing to the delivery of the LTS department's strategic plan.

About you

You will have proven and demonstrable experience with a variety of hardware, software, presentation equipment, reprographic and other digital solutions. A broad understanding of complimentary digital technology and competencies is essential. Experience of supporting Audio-Visual equipment is desirable but not essential for the role.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-disciplined manner, whilst adhering to an extremely high standard of customer care, are essential characteristics for this role. You should be highly proactive, well-organised, command excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, while operating with a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
