The opportunity

The Design School at London College of Communication seeks a Programme Director to undertake the academic leadership and management of the Graphic Design Communication Programme courses. This will include subject leadership of the relevant academic disciplines, the maintenance and enhancement of standards, responsibility for the design, development and delivery of the Programme curriculum and its relationship to design research, knowledge exchange and pedagogy. Other responsibilities include the day to day management of the Programme including all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as resource management; and the observation and implementation of the policies and procedures of the University and College. The post holder will be a member of the School Management Team and work with colleagues to develop and maintain a Design School course portfolio that is distinctive, sustainable, relevant and of high quality. 

About you

We are looking for an experienced leader, inspiring educator and collaborative team player with a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline. You should have a demonstrable knowledge of academic provision, trends and issues in Design Higher Education and beyond and an in-depth knowledge of professional practices and design research. An active researcher/practitioner with a network of relevant industry and academic contacts, you will have a track record of being innovative in your field and be effective at managing activities and projects to achieve long term objectives.
