The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a makeup practitioner; a qualified specialist with fashion media industry experience to play a key role supporting teaching and learning in the specialist area of makeup for Fashion.

The role is based at Lime Grove media and communication studios, which is part of the London College of Fashion and provides a variety of make-up, hair, fashion media, performance and photography facilities. With your professional expertise, you will provide guidance, advice and contribute to the delivery of teaching and learning and academic activities within the College, as well as contribute to the planning and development of  applied makeup techniques for the Hair and Makeup for Fashion programme.

You will provide support to students through informal and formal training and instruction, helping them to develop proficiency with highly specialist techniques, production methods and technology. You will also provide feedback to students on their learning, as well as Course Leaders, Technical Coordinators and Technical Managers, regarding service levels and student requirements.

About you

With a degree or an equivalent qualification in Art and Design with experience in the makeup industry, you will be a motivated, creative individual with high levels of technical competence and a dedication to technological development. With good communication skills, you will be able to contribute critical input to student concept and expressive/creative intention, including giving feedback to students and helping with student formative assessments, with reference to appropriate learning outcomes of the course or project.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, a final salary pension and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.
