Join us at UAL Short Courses for an exciting opportunity to expand our Social Media and Digital Marketing programmes, offering unique and creative learning experiences to diverse groups of learners both in our colleges and online. 

UAL Short Courses delivers a wide array of distinctive courses, enabling students to learn from industry experts, acquire new skills, and enhance their portfolios. Our courses are available online and in-person across UAL locations, scheduled throughout the year, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

We are currently seeking tutors to join our teaching pool. Opportunities are available for delivering the following courses: 

About you

Are you passionate about inspiring, engaging, and connecting with learners of all ages? Do you possess the skills to prepare individuals for success in their chosen careers or educational paths? If so, we invite you to join our team at UAL Short Courses as a Short Course Tutor. 

We are particularly keen to hear from practicing professionals who are at the forefront of their industries and are eager to impart new skills and experiences to our students. 

Candidates should be capable of planning and delivering inclusive sessions that develop and engage learners, incorporating their own specialisms and styles. A solid understanding of the industry or subject area is essential, as is prior experience in teaching or training. A teaching qualification is desirable but not mandatory. Tutors should be confident in working with diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds, creating a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. 

Strong organisational skills, including the management of materials, are required.

We are UAL Short Courses

UAL Short Courses (UALSC) is part of the University’s department of Academic Enterprise which leads the University of the Arts London’s commercial educational operations. There are 100 staff and 1,500 hourly paid staff in Academic Enterprise, which is integral to the University’s long-term development. Its mission is to increase the amount of income generated by the University from non-core teaching and research activities. It includes several successful existing business operations including UAL Short Courses Ltd, AE International (English Language preparation and Study Abroad) as well as UALAT.

Stages involved in the process: Application, Shortlisting, Interview Q&A, Presentation, Onboarding.

As part of your application, you will need to write a supporting statement in no more than 1,500 words that covers the competencies that can be found in the person specification.

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to prepare a Scheme of Work (SOW) for an existing course.

We recommend applying early, as the application deadline may be moved forward if a sufficient number of applications are received. The deadline for applications is the 6th of May. Interviews are scheduled to take place online tentatively on 28th May.
