The opportunity

The University is committed to being an inclusive environment. The Disability Service supports this by providing consistent, high quality advice and support.

This opportunity is for an experienced administrator to join the Disability Service team. Working with three other Disability Administrators. It provides an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of Advice work.

The Disability Service have a set of core values. To:

This is a varied and challenging role. Carrying out a range of tasks, which include:

  • Responding to queries
  • Managing appointments
  • Financial administration
  • Maintaining and developing record-keeping systems
  • Participating in activities to enhance the Disability Service and its administrative processes
 

About you

You will understand the barriers that disabled students may encounter. With an understanding of disability support provision in education.

You may have worked in Further or Higher Education. You could be from a charity, social care or health background.

You will have worked for an organisation that was externally audited. You will work with accuracy and integrity. Understanding and observing client confidentiality.

You will be able to build rapport with colleagues and students. You will be able to communicate with clarity and sensitivity.

You will enjoy using your initiative or creativity to resolve problems. Be able to manage your own workload. Meet deadlines and observe service level agreements.

You will be educated to ‘A’ Level standard. With relevant qualifications and/or training in customer care.

You will have advanced IT skills and experience of working with Microsoft Office, databases, tailored business systems or customer relationship software. You will have experience of financial administration (purchasing and sales).
