Senior Communications & Marketing Officer

The person in this role will manage the Communications and Marketing functions of UAL Awarding Body. They will develop and implement UAL Awarding Body’s annual marketing plan, and will manage two team members focused on communications and events.
The successful candidate will be able to use all tools from the marketing mix to deliver a range of high-quality marketing and communications activities including: national conferences and other high-profile events, brand promotion, web content production, publications, social media and digital marketing.
Reporting in to the Business Development Manager this role will contribute to achieving challenging targets for growth by cross-selling products to existing customers and securing new business. It will also support our reputation and positive engagement with the creative arts and education sector.

The cross-UAL department of Academic Enterprise aims to increase the amount of income generated by the University from alternative services, teaching and research activities. This successful and growing department includes UAL Awarding Body, UAL Short Courses Ltd, Language Centre, College and research-based enterprise, business and innovation operations.
This post is based in UAL Awarding Body. We design and award creative qualifications that empower and inspire educators to help students reach their potential. UAL Awarding Body is regulated by Ofqual and CCEA and currently offers accredited qualifications in art and design, fashion, creative media, music and performing and production arts.
The successful applicant will have significant experience of developing and leading the implementation of annual marketing and communications plans, working across multiple platforms including print and digital for a range of audiences.
You will need experience of delivering an annual programme of high quality conferences or events, and of supporting growth in existing and new markets. Knowledge of the pre-University education sector and creative arts would be advantageous.
