The opportunity

We’re looking a highly motivated and creative person to support our new technical theatre courses. Preferably you’ll have experience in motion model making and articulation, puppetry and special effects.  

 

You should be able to demonstrate light engineering skills and use of a wide range of workshop equipment and processes. A good Knowledge of electronics- use of stepper motors, servos, controllers etc, able to use Arduino, Raspberry pi programming and application in a creative context for motion control is highly desirable.  

About you

Students are at the forefront of this role and some experience in teaching making skills at HE level is desirable. The role will be to provide specialist technical expertise, guidance and advice and to contribute to the delivery of teaching and learning activities within the 3D Workshops & Studios. Also assisting the configuration and development of the workspaces themselves as the courses grow. As well as familiarity with making, we are looking for someone with excellent communication and organizational skills and a good understanding of health and safety.
