The BA Film Practice degree is looking to recruit talented Associate lecturers in various filmmaking and film theory disciplines.

Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of a unit or part of a unit. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully.

You will work closely with other academic staff, including the Programme Director and Course Leader.

About you

BA Hons Film Practice is looking to increase its group of talented associate lecturers, and are looking specifically for expertise in the following areas:

  1. Documentary Production (directing-producing)
  2. Fiction and Documentary Editing
  3. Screenwriting
  4. Film theory (new currents in global cinematic traditions as well as more traditional film theory approaches)
  5. Fiction Direction

Associate lecturers primarily deliver and teach on units within the curriculum, and also assess student work, but would not have any administrative responsibilities of organising a unit or any form of unit management.

Therefore, ongoing industry experience alongside academic/higher education experience of teaching and assessing on either undergraduate or postgraduate degrees is an important prerequisite of the role.
