Alumni Relations Manager

The opportunity

We are looking for a pro-active individual who will take responsibility for managing an active programme of engagement opportunities for University of the Arts London's alumni audience.  You will play a key part in building awareness, generating involvement and ultimately support from our graduates by developing communications and other activities to benefit this creative network.  Working alongside academics and colleagues in the Colleges and UAL Central Services, this role will help expand alumni networks to support student recruitment, generate links for graduate employment, generate publicity and secure new support.

Experience of working in alumni relations or at a membership organisation would be advantageous.  You will have experience of events management and enjoy working as part of a team. Likewise, experience in developing new or editing written content for marketing materials and social media are key to the role. Strong interpersonal skills are essential with the ability to engage with graduates, senior staff and collegues across all levels of the organisation. A strong communicator, who enjoys giving excellent customer service, whether orally or in writing.

About you

You will have experience of working in an Alumni Relations/Development team or equivalent and have developed a sound understanding of alumni engagement opportunities. Knowledge of how alumni relation activities contributes to the wider strategy of the University and benefits the University as a whole is essential. You will be an effective communicator with excellent relationship creating and building skills.

Working effectively in a team will be second nature to you as well as the ability to develop and motivate other team members. You will be able to work to deadlines and to plan, prioritise and manage resources and to proactively problem solve when needed.
