The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity  to play a key role in the leadership and management of the BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring course at the London College of Fashion.

This is a well-established undergraduate course with excellent industry links that provides the skills and knowledge to prepare graduates for a range of design and design related roles in the fashion industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for the academic leadership of the BA (Hons) Bespoke Tailoring course, including the day-to-day management of staff and all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students as well as resources allocated.

About you

You will contribute to, and where appropriate, lead on the process of course development, modifications, major changes, validation and review by the University, external agencies and professional bodies working with the Programme Director, Associate Dean and Dean.

You will have expertise in bespoke tailoring design and manufacture with the confidence to translate your knowledge into a vision for the course. A relevant degree-level qualification is essential and will ideally be supported by a postgraduate degree in the relevant area and a teaching qualification. You will have the ability to build on and establish excellent industry connections and networks in order to provide a progressive and highly-regarded undergraduate experience.

As well as your expertise, knowledge and experience in bespoke tailoring design, you will have knowledge of craft techniques and digital manufacture and have an understanding of their application in the context of contemporary bespoke tailoring.

You will undertake research and/or professional practice to maintain your subject currency as part of your own continuing development and ensuring your position as a leader in your field.
