The opportunity

As part of a team you will assist with the effective delivery of library services.  You will participate in front-line services and administrative duties including support for self-issue systems, IT and printing.  You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries; including the use of the library catalogue, electronic information resources and participate in roaming support. You will also be required to participate in shelving activities and demonstrate an understanding of manual handling guidelines which will be required when lifting heavy items.

There are two roles available, one based at London College of Communication and the other based at Central Saint Martins. 

Post 1

The post holder will work 28 hours per week, working on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 7 hours per day. Normal working hours will be 9am-5pm, with a requirement to start both earlier and later between the hours of 8.30am-6.15pm once a week, depending on the needs of the service. This role is based at London College of Communication.

Post 2

The post holder will work 14 hours per week, working on a Monday and a Thursday, 7 hours per day. Normal working hours will be 10am-6pm, with a requirement to start earlier or later between the hours of 8.30am-6.15pm, depending on the needs of the service. This role is based at Central Saint Martins.

About you

You will have relevant library or customer service experience and formal training or education to post-16 level. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be IT literate. Working in a small team you will provide a postive and responsive customer service.
