The opportunity

The role of Curriculum Leader, Fashion and Textiles, Foundation Diploma in Art and Design is part of the Access and Progression to Higher Education Programme, on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course. This role carries the sole responsibility for the management of the Fashion and Textiles curriculum area as well as being part of the Foundation course management team. Each curriculum area has its own specialist delivery and identity within the course and the role carries a responsibility for planning, timetabling and delivering the specialist curriculum as well as managing a team of associate lecturers. The Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course at CSM is delivered at our Archway campus and has approximately 600 students from the UK and rest of the world.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Contributing to the overall academic leadership and management of the Programme and its constituent courses, ensuring the maintenance and enhancement of standards.
  • Lead on specific aspects of provision across the Course and Programme.
  • Working collegially across the College and University so as to ensure the Programme is fully embedded within the wider institutional context.
  • The day-to-day leadership and management of the Curriculum Area including all areas of learning, teaching and assessment of students, the design, development and delivery of the curriculum as well as resources allocated.
  • Observing and implementing the policies and procedures of the University and the College
 

About you

You will be an experienced academic and professional practitioner in the field of relevant Fashion and/or Textiles or practice You will promote the pursuit of the highest academic standards and of reflection, enquiry and creative risk taking to ensure that students are well equipped intellectually, creatively and technically, not only to meet the challenges of contemporary professional practice, but to anticipate and initiate change. You will have extensive experience of teaching at FE (Level 3/4) Level in an HEI or Further Education institution. A dynamic, enthusiastic and committed academic, you will demonstrate an ability to motivate students and work as part of a team to engage and build relationships with external organisations, institutions and individuals.
