Specialist Technician (Learning and Teaching): Photography

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a digital media specialist to join a leading college in fashion education and play a key role providing assistance to students and staff and contributing to the day-to-day operation of our excellent teaching and learning facilities.

You will be based at the Lime Grove campus, which specialises in Fashion Media, photography, styling and production, journalism, PR and Comms, Creative direction for fashion and Illustration. You will join the specialist technical team responsible for delivering technical workshops.

You will provide professional expertise, guidance and advice to students and staff working with Photography and lens based media and contribute to the delivery of academic activities within the College.

You will also provide support for student learning through informal and formal training and instruction. A key part of the role will be to contribute critical input to student concept and expressive/creative intention, including giving feedback to students and contributing to student formative assessments.

About you

You will need a demonstrable contemporary and forward-thinking expertise in a fashion photography practice, including in photographic studio and location practices and in both digital and analogue processes. You will have a high level of proficiency in Adobe CC applications and other related applications and their integration into the fashion photography workflow.

You will also need experience of delivering technical workshops and providing 1-2-1 support for photographic processes and problem solving, as well as experience in broader lens based processes.
