As part of a team you will assist with the effective delivery of library services. You will participate in front-line services and administrative duties including support for self-issue systems, IT and  printing. You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries; including the  use of the library catalogue, electronic information resources and participate in roaming support. You will also be required to participate in shelving activities and demonstrate an understanding of manual handling guidelines which will be required when lifting heavy items.

This post involves working 5 evenings a week, Monday to Friday 6pm - 10.15pm, BA term time only. Any remaining hours are reserve hours which are worked over the year by agreement to accommodate weekday opening, plus staff training and development.

Other evening roles may arise following these interviews at other College libraries, which shortlisted candidates may be considered for within 3 months of interview for the current roles on offer.

Library Services are central to the University’s learning, teaching and research activities and you will be instrumental in providing assistance and ensuring its effective and timely delivery. 

You should have relevant library or customer service experience and formal training or education to post-16 level. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and be IT literate. Working in a small team you will provide a postive and responsive customer service.
