The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Leader/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer with expertise in a Virtual Reality (VR), Games or Animation environment to play a pivotal role at the global forefront of developing VR, shaping the future of the VR field and directly impacting the continued growth of the industry.
London College of Communication aspires to be a global leader in Virtual Reality practice and research and we seek a skilled practitioner with experience in both immersive storytelling and Higher Education teaching to make this a reality.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the course in close relationship with the Moving Image & Digital Arts faculty and Programme Director, giving our students the opportunity to work with new immersive and interactive tools for film, games, design and remote collaboration.
This will include leading the planning, delivery and assessment of both technical and theoretical units on the course, managing associate lecturers, monitoring and responding to performance data and representing the course and subject in the context of the operations of the school and college.
About you
As a professional industry practitioner, you will hold a relevant degree and will be able to demonstrate significant creative success and specialist knowledge in virtual production workflows and technologies, including Unity development, 360° filmmaking, games design & development, as well as an understanding of emerging practices such as creative coding and real-time rendering systems.
You will be forward thinking and visionary, with an understanding of the changing demands of the industry and a contemporary approach and understanding of Virtual Reality production and research.
A relevant postgraduate qualification will be an advantage, while industry experience is essential. A strong working knowledge of the following software systems, languages and practice areas will also be required:
- Unity
- C#
- Autodesk Maya (inc. Python/MEL)
- 360° filmmaking processes and technologies
- Unreal Engine
- Adobe CC
