The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join the BA(Hons) Creative Direction for Fashion teaching team at London College of Fashion. We are looking for Associate Lecturers, passionate in nurturing the next generation of communication designers.

Your commitment to excellence in teaching, creativity, innovation and the student experience should equal your professional experience, awareness of the fashion landscape and design/technical understanding for the subject area.

Ready to undertake teaching, assessment, unit management and curriculum development, you will provide pastoral and academic support to our diverse range of students and work closely with other academic staff, including the Course Leader and Associate Lecturers.

About you

The Creative Direction for Fashion course seeks to develop and foster critical creative practice in the field of fashion communication, a fast-evolving discipline.

You will have relevant experience and knowledge of fashion culture, communication design and concept and design development and be able to teach industry practices and methods of design development.

You will also have significant industry experience and be willing to bring your varied experiences and network of industry connections to support the role. Ideal candidates will have worked or are currently working in one or more of the following areas:

  • Visual Communication/creative direction
  • Experience Design
  • Interactive Design
  • UI/UX design
  • Design technology
  • User-centred design
  • Spatial design (3D environments, installations, live events)

The role requires seminar teaching and delivery of technical workshops, and also the marking and assessing of work. Experience of working with HE students and enhancing the student experience is highly desirable.
