The opportunity

To be responsible for overseeing the facilities management, student experience and smooth running of the entire residential portfolio with a focus on customer service and effective delivery, with day to day responsibility for all University facilities managed residential buildings and staff.

 

To lead and motivate the staff with day to day responsibility for the facilities management of residential buildings for which the University has responsibility.

 

To oversee compliance with Health and Safety legislation, ANUK or UUK Codes and Data Protection at all halls mentioned above.

 

To oversee the provision of a safe, secure and supportive environment for University of the Arts students to reside in.

 

To be available to work during the months of August and September – it is very unlikely that extended leave (one week’s duration or more) will be granted during this period, except in exceptional circumstances.

About you

The successful candidate will possess significant experience of operational management in a similar consumer led environment (residential, hospitality, hotels etc.) and on a comparable scale. You will have extensive experience of leading teams, with a proven track record of implementing change management and delivering performance improvement. A high level of commercial acumen is vital, with experience of budget management including setting and achieving financial targets a key aspect of the role.


In this customer focused role, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude are absolutely essential.
