Grade 2 Library Assistant – Library and Open Access IT (1 FTE) at London College of Fashion

The focus of this role is to assist in the delivery of high quality customer-focused library and open access IT services.

You will participate in front-line services and administrative duties including support for self-issue systems, IT and printing. You will assist users with directional and initial information enquiries; including the use of the library catalogue, electronic information resources and participate in roaming support. You will also be required to participate in shelving activities.

The role is full time and includes the requirement to work one day a week until 6.00pm during term time, currently Wednesdays, and until 6.15 in the vacations, on a rota basis.

Library and Student Support Services is a University wide Directorate delivering high quality services to support all students studying at UAL so that they can fulfil their potential and get the best from their University experience. The Directorate consists of Student Services, Library Services, Academic Support and the International Student Experience (including Language Development).

London College of Fashion

This post is part of the London College of Fashion Library Services team.

You should have relevant library or customer service experience and will be able to work independently.  You will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be IT literate.

You are able to ensure that accurate information is passed onto the most appropriate people in a timely fashion and have experience of answering standard questions/queries from customers. You should have experience of working as a member of a team, providing support, assistance and cover where needed.
