The opportunity

We are looking to recruit an established academic to take on a leadership role in the Media School at London College of Communication as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BA (Hons) Advertising. The successful candidate will lead and manage academic delivery, curriculum development and the student learning experience for the course. The appointed candidate will report to the Programme Director for Communications and Media, and will work alongside our other undergraduate and postgraduate course leaders to make a significant contribution to teaching and research or knowledge exchange activities. Candidates will be familiar with the current UK HE environment, its priorities and reporting requirements. 

About you

You will be an established academic with a broad understanding of the advertising and marketing communications field. You will have the vision to develop a course narrative that prepares students for future directions in the advertising and broader media and communications industries with a focus on at least one of the following: promotion and public discourse, campaign strategy and creativity, digital marketing and media analytics, and brand management across media. You will be committed to delivering a contemporary education that integrates theory and practice and which promotes diversity and inclusivity. You will have a proven track record of delivering a high quality student experience including through your substantial HE teaching and research or knowledge exchange activities. You will be able to demonstrate previous managerial experience which includes leading staff teams, analysing key performance indicators, developing the curriculum and adhering to quality processes. You will hold or be willing to study for a relevant teaching qualification leading to HEA Fellowship or Senior Fellowship. You will have strong interpersonal skills that enable you to work as part of a team, to communicate with employers and other external stakeholders, and to build networks in furtherance of the aims of the Media School.
