The opportunity

London College of Fashion is seeking to appoint a Post-Doctorate candidate, who specialises in haptic/multisensory design, textiles and material technology disciplines to support an experimental research post within the Digital Anthropology Lab, our newly formed research entity.

The Digital Anthropology Lab has an ambitious vision to explore futures of digital for the human experience, within the production and consumption of fashion in its broadest context. Working across academic, industry and student-led agendas within the University, the Digital Anthropology Lab seeks to capture and inspire imaginations, providing a research lens on emerging futures of digital experience and making in a global context across cultures.

For this research post, we are seeking a candidate who is able to work across multiple research projects including academic and industry-led, and to advance research objectives, academic and industry partnerships of the Digital Anthropology Lab, and participate in research agendas to inform across research and student outputs.

About you

We are seeking a Post-Doctorate candidate or, industry equivalent experience with research expertise in areas of any of the below;

•   Haptics and multisensory design

•   Textiles / materials innovation

•   Wearable technology

•   Phenomenology

The successful candidate will have the ability to develop new hypothesis and concepts for testing to expand or extend existing body of knowledge, combined with an experience of research funding applications and teaching at HE level.
