The opportunity

This is an opportunity to make an important contribution in the area of international student recruitment at London College of Communication and University of the Arts London This role is London-based and you will be joining a team whose role is to advise applicants on the LCC and UAL course provision, assess applications and portfolios and make offers for the most appropriate courses at a variety of levels across a range subjects that are offered by the Design, Media and Screen Schools at LCC. Above all, you will be in a position to contribute to delivering a high-quality experience for international applicants. In addition to the recruitment related activity, the role also involves delivering guest lectures, running workshops and participating in promotional and profile-raising activities.

About you

We are looking for someone with specialist practical and theoretical knowledge in one or more aspects of design, media or screen-related disciplines, and ability to apply that knowledge across disciplines to make secure recruitment and admissions decisions. Experience of supporting students’ progression to higher education in the areas of art, design, media and communication, including advice on postgraduate study is highly desirable.

We are seeking an individual who is an experienced and confident decision maker in the field of student recruitment with effective communication skills and the ability to adapt the message for a diverse audience, as well as someone who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues who are working in both the UK and overseas.

Management and organisational skills are important factors in making a success of this role since other international academic recruiters within the team will often be travelling overseas and you will need to be able to work independently in the LCC International Development Office. As part of our commitment to fairness and openness in advising and selecting students, it is important that you can demonstrate cultural awareness in both local and global contexts.

If you have any general queries, you may contact Lesley Wilkins, Staffing Administrator, lcc.jobs@lcc.arts.ac.uk or telephone: 020 7514 7985
