The opportunity

You'll be leading a team of Library Services staff, ensuring the effective delivery of library services on Sundays. There will also be a need for weekday contact hours, 4 hours per week, to ensure integration with the weekday library team. Responsible for contributing to the development, delivery, stock organisation and maintenance of customer-focused Library Services at UAL, you'll be liaising with relevant colleagues as necessary. You'll support learning, teaching and research activities, participating in information dissemination and provision of enquiry services, including roaming support and involvement in virtual enquiry services as needed.

You'll work 5.75 hours on Sunday 12 - 18.15 and 4 hours on Monday 9 - 1.00 during BA term time, the remaining hours to be arranged locally.

About you

With relevant experience of library work and a degree in either Library and Information Studies or any subject, plus a postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies, or equivalent, you'll have demonstrable experience of working in a customer focused service, ideally in a Higher Education environment. You'll have the ability to motivate a team and to work independently without direct supervision and have excellent written and oral communication skills, be IT literate and possess some interest in and knowledge of the subject areas of UAL.

In return, we offer a competitive employment package including a salary that reflects working in London; an attractive pension scheme; and a commitment to your continuing personal and career development in an environment that encourages creativity, diversity and excellence. Relocation assistance is available.
