The opportunity

As Course Leader you will take responsibility for the academic leadership and overall management of the MA Theatre provision. You will be responsible for providing a highly stimulating and nurturing environment in which theatre design practice is at the core of the student’s activity. You will also be responsible for effective organisation and management of the curriculum delivery, its students and resources.

Through your professional networks, you will ensure the continuous development of the course by involving external partners and practitioners, to enhance the student’s awareness of theatre design. You will contribute actively as part of our Theatre and Screen team, sharing your knowledge with other staff and students.

About you

With a national, and ideally international, profile as a Theatre Design practitioner, you will be a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual, who is keen to develop theatre design skills in others.

You’ll have a degree in a relevant subject, and professional practice in theatre design and design for performance. You’ll also have an understanding of the demands of study at postgraduate level.

Creative and highly motivated, you will have strong communication skills and confidence in working with diverse audiences. You will need to have an organised approach, and be able to work effectively with others, liaising with other departments within the university where necessary.

This is a fractional appointment of 0.5 and the ideal candidate will be keen to combine this role with their own practice.

To apply, please visit http://www.arts.ac.uk/about-ual/ual-jobs/ where you are able search for the position and apply using our online application form.
