The opportunity

Shaping employability and careers provision for students and graduates across UAL, you have the potential to influence not only the university but the wider national creative industries labour market. Joining Careers and Employability as we become part of the university's wider Teaching and Learning Exchange, you'll be a key member of the senior management team, forging links between the two services and ensuring we maximise our impact.

Building on our innovative work to date, you'll focus on the delivery of the enterprise and employability strand of the University’s Learning, Teaching and Enhancement Strategy.  This means working in partnership with the colleges and the students’ union to provide access to first-class support and guidance. You'll help UAL’s students and graduates to learn and develop skills, knowledge, networks and employment opportunities – as part of their courses, through extra-curricular projects and programmes, and through collaboration with the creative industries.

About you

In this high-profile leadership role, you'll be expected to make an impact from day one, so a firm grasp of enterprise and employability within the context of higher education and the creative industries is vital. You're likely to have experience of leading a team and of developing and delivering high-quality careers services for students. This ideally includes curriculum development.

An exceptional communicator, both in person and in writing, you'll be able to reach, influence and engage others, as well as negotiate at all levels of our organisation. Ready to lead a creative and enterprising team, you'll bring energy and drive to the role.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive pension scheme and a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.
