The opportunity
Working as part of a team of analysts you will support the university’s transition from its current dashboarding software to Power BI. You will work with key stakeholders to build new dashboards, overseeing each stage of the development process, including design, technical development, testing, and rollout. You will collaborate with colleagues to review and refine existing dashboard content prior to re-building these in Power BI. You will prioritise the needs of the end user whilst maximising the capabilities of Power BI. Additionally, you will support adoption of the new software, contributing to demonstrations and training to both technical and non-technical users.
About you
We seek an experienced Power BI Developer with a proven track record in developing and implementing high quality end to end data reporting and visualisations through Power BI.
You should have extensive experience working with large datasets to extract information which will support key university initiatives. You will have advanced knowledge of tools such as SQL with experience of writing complex queries and procedures as well as being able to make alterations to existing scripts.
You will be familiar with data management practices and be able to demonstrate how you have successfully worked in accordance with these.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must, with demonstrable experience of collaborating with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate these into user-friendly, insightful and actionable BI solutions.
You will be able to work collaboratively within a team and be willing to offer help and support to colleagues where required.
You will be adept at managing your own workload and dealing with competing priorities whilst remaining flexible in your approach.
