The opportunity

The Lecturer in Creative Communications role sits within the School of Design and Technology and is part of the Creative Direction Group, accountable to the Creative Director.  

The role undertakes teaching, project management, curriculum development and research in the area of creative communication.

The role will see you working across a wide variety of creative and practical courses within the School, supporting and developing student’s communication and presentation skills base, thinking and doing.

As a key member of the Creative Direction Group and as a lecturer across a number of diverse fashion courses you will educate students about the communication of their work, challenging the status quo looking for new and exciting ways to convey who they are and what they do.

From portfolio styles (digital and hand rendered), graphic design, layout, typography, social media, website design and more, you will be able to offer creative guidance and ideas suitable to each individual learners identity.

This exciting challenging roll requires knowledge of past and current communication trends, channels and medias in order to create new methods for the future.

In addition, the role works with the Creative Director on new initiatives, events, publicity materials and events.

About you

The successful candidate will have an active profile within communication, whether in the fashion industry, art scene, education or any other interrelated creative discipline.  As a skilled practitioner of communication tools (Drawing and art practices, Adobe in-design, Photoshop, photography etc) you will be directional in how you use those tools, able to work up from the raw grass roots to more refined and finalized creative outputs. You will have a well-connected profile that has plenty of diverse communication experience. Your profile will put impact and contemporary communication styles forefront to your working ethos and in this case your teachings.
