LCF are seeking to appoint a Technical Coordinator  for the Digital Anthropology Lab on a 0.6 basis.

The Digital Anthropology Lab is a research entity of LCF, University of the Arts London, with an ambitious vision to explore futures of digital for the human experience, within the production and consumption of fashion in its broadest context. Working across academic, industry and student led agendas within the University, the Digital Anthropology Lab seeks to capture and inspire imaginations, providing a research lens on emerging futures of digital experience and making in a global context across cultures.

The role seeks to provide technical leadership for the Digital Anthropology Lab and associated areas to include hardware procurement and maintenance, management of technicians, student flow within the DALab and contributing to student projects. The role critically seeks to appoint a candidate able to provide thought leadership and visionary thinking in the form of student inductions and lectures to inspire and guide on the technical application of the evolving space of where digital collides with fashion.

About you

We are seeking a technical coordinator who is keen to develop thought leadership in technical areas by developing close working relationships across LCF. This will include students, course leaders, the research community and commercial organisations seeking to explore digital applications for fashion.

You will live and breathe technology, pick up new tech applications quickly and be able to create new opportunities in the area to develop and enhance the student experience. Key skills may include but not be limited to areas of Computer Vision, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, physical computing, 3D printing and digital design.

We are seeking a candidate who is able to work simultaneously across multiple projects and sites to build a network of technologies, technicians, experiments and ideas for students, staff and research fellows to interact with from within the DALab.

You will relish the opportunity to see students get to grips with a new technology and push it forward, you will be a confident presenter, able to inspire with your dictionary of technology experience, and you will question and work with our research community to make the seemingly digitally impossible a reality for fashion.

Our remit is broad, and whilst we are seeking a candidate who specialises in one or more areas, we are searching for a hybrid technical leader who is excited about the possibilities of working in an experimental, and futures facing technical role for fashion.
